Monika Heiming, previously Secretary-General of the European Rail Freight Association (ERFA), has been appointed the new Executive Director of the European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM) in Brussels from 1 October.
Mrs Heiming, a German citizen, studied languages at the University of Cologne, and holds a Master’s degree in European Management from the University Faculties in Brussels and an Executive MBA from the Belgian Solvay Business School. Among her responsibilities she helped to develop the association UNIFE in Brussels from 1993 to 1997 and managed and marketed the engineering activities of European engineering group Europengineers eeig from 1999 to 2004, before being made Secretary-General of ERFA in January 2005.
The UIC headquarters team would like to warmly congratulate Monika Heiming on her appointment as head of the association of the independent infrastructure managers (currently chaired by Mr Hubert du Mesnil, Chairman of RFF and Vice-Chairman of UIC Europe). UIC is of course very keen to further develop close and fruitful cooperation with EIM under Mrs Heiming’s leadership and to offer its technical support and expertise on issues of common interest.
