Slovakia: New management at ZSSK Cargo

The Ministry of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic, as sole shareholder of ZSSK Cargo, has made personnel changes at Železničná spoločnosť Cargo Slovakia, a.s. (ZSSK Cargo) taking effect on 26 April 2012.

Mr Vladimír Ľupták, has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer of ZSSK Cargo (in this position he is replacing Mr Pavol Ďuriník PhD).
Mr Vladimír Ľupták (born in 1964) graduated in 1987 from the University of Economics in Bratislava (VŠE – Faculty of Production Sector Management). In 2000-2006 he worked in the railway sector, initially at ŽSR and after the separation of railway companies at ZSSK Cargo, as Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director of the Economic Department. Later he worked in a company providing economic consultancy and training services. In 2010 he returned to the railway sector, where he held the function of Chief Executive Officer of ŽSR.

UIC Director General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux and the UIC Board of Directors wish to congratulate Mr Vladimír Ľupták on his recent appointment.
