Slovakia: New appointment at ZSSK

On 25 April 2012 the Ministry for Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic, as sole shareholder of Železničná spoločnosť Slovensko, a.s. (ZSSK), appointed a new Board of Directors at ZSSK.

Mr Pavol Gábor became the new Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director, replacing Mr Pavel Kravec.

Mr Gábor, born in 1959, has served in various senior financial and managerial positions in the rail sector; in 2005-2010 he held the post of Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and CFO at ZSSK. Before his appointment as CEO of ZSSK, he served as the Director of the Controlling Department at ŽSR, the Slovak infrastructure manager. Mr Gábor studied rail operation and business at the University of Transport in Žilina, Slovakia.

UIC Director General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux and the UIC Board of Directors wish to congratulate Mr Pavol Gábor on his recent appointment.
