At the proposal of SNCF President Guillaume Pepy, the Board of Management of French Railways has appointed Mrs Rachel Picard as new Director-General of Gares & Connexions, the branch of SNCF in charge of stations. Rachel Picard, 45 years and a graduate of the HEC Paris business school, has been Director-General of voyages-sncf.com since 2007. She succeeds Mrs Sophie Boissard who takes over her new responsibilities as Associate Director-General for Strategy and Development at SNCF from 7 June.
Also at the proposal of President Guillaume Pepy, the SNCF Board of Management has appointed Mr Jean-Pierre Farandou as Associate Director-General of EPIC SNCF, a new position created close to the President. His task will mainly consist in steering the changes and adaptations to the running of EPIC SNCF (“Public Industrial and Commercial Establishment”). Jean-Pierre Farandou, 54 years and a graduate of France’s Ecole des Mines de Paris engineering school, was previously Director of the branch SNCF PROXIMITES, comprising TRANSILIEN, TER, INTERCITES and Keolis/Effia.
