On 26 October, all railway noise and vibration experts are invited to participate in the mid-term conference of the RIVAS project.

This event will be the opportunity to discover the results achieved by the project over the last 18 months, including the effect of trenches and other soil stiffening systems, design studies carried out to improve tracks and rolling stock for the purpose of reducing ground vibrations.

Moreover computer simulations developed to examine how vibrations are emitted and transmitted in the ground will be presented.

Why you should attend:

You will learn about

  • The challenges of efficient reduction of rail traffic vibrations (Bernd Asmussen, Technical Coordinator, UIC)
  • Future solutions for rolling stock design (Adam Mirza, Bombardier Sweden)
  • Track design to reduce ground vibration (Estelle Bongini, SNCF)
  • Transmission path mitigation measures (Arne Dijckmans, KU Leuven)
  • Targeted maintenance approaches (Lise Pesqueux, Alstom)
  • Measures ensuring the applicability of RIVAS in all European Countries (Dorothee Stiebel, DB)

At the end of the conference, the speakers will also be pleased to share and discuss their research results with the delegates.
We look forward to meeting you in Venice.

IMPORTANT: As October is a very busy period in Venice, we advise you to book your flight and accommodation early!
