On 22 January, the day of the 50th anniversary of the Elysée Treaty (Treaty of Franco-German Friendship), German Railways (DB) and French Railways (SNCF) are offering special rail tickets to mark the occasion. In addition a high speed ICE train and TGV will display the official logo of this 50th anniversary. Under the theme “50 years, 50 days, 50 euros”, the two railway companies are offering the “Elysée Spécial” rail ticket in both countries: a return ticket to be used either on ICE or TGV trains on routes running from Frankfurt am Main and from Munich/Stuttgart to Paris.

Moreover, throughout this anniversary year, the two companies will offer free travel to groups of young passengers as part of an initiative of the Franco-German Youth Office (OFAJ/DFJW).
