UIC and FIATA jointly organising the 5th Market Place Seminar in Vienna from 18 – 19 April 2013

The International Union of Railways, UIC and the International Federation of Freight Forwarders, FIATA, are jointly organising the 5th Market Place Seminar in Vienna from 18 – 19 April 2013. The Market Place Seminar aims to create opportunities for increased cooperation and business development within the rail sector by offering a common platform for railway undertakings, freight forwarders and customers.

The themes of the previous editions focused respectively on Rail Transport in Eastern Europe in Prague, French-Iberian Rail Link in Barcelona, Rail Transport connecting South Eastern Europe and the Middle-East in Istanbul and Challenges of Intermodal Hinterland Traffic in Hamburg.
This year the seminar will be organised in Vienna and will focus on Intercontinental Corridors – New Opportunities for Rail Freight?

The main subjects will focus on:

  • South-East Corridors
  • New business perspectives in Europe – Asian traffic
  • Future development of railway policy in Europe
  • Intermodal and distribution solutions
