Today, SNCF President Guillaume Pepy and Voyages Chief Barbara Dalibard presented OUIGO, SNCF’s new sky-blue and mauve low-cost TGV train. Services are scheduled to commence on 2 April 2013 between Marne-la-Vallée Chessy, Marseille Saint-Charles and Montpellier Saint-Roch.

SNCF is thus broadening its range of services and making high speed easily accessible for all and more often. This no-frills model addresses the demand of passengers who want the freedom of being able to choose services most tailored to their needs and purchasing power.

The concept of OUIGO is simple: one class, one seat, one bag.

• Ouigo trains have a single class with new seats, similar to second-class on standard TGVs.
• All passengers have a reserved seat and each train has at least four conductors onboard to accompany passengers.
• The train fare covers one item of cabin baggage and one hand bag, with further options available at low prices (e.g. extra baggage, text message updates, power outlets, bikes).
