A delegation from Turkish State Railways (TCDD) on the way back from a study trip to the United Kingdom – based around the theme of railway stations, sales and interfaces – paid a visit to UIC Headquarters in Paris on 21 March 2013.
The delegation was led by Mr Cengiz Şahin, Deputy Head of TCDD IT Department and included representatives of TCDD IT and Passenger Departments.
Paul Véron, Director of Communications and UIC Coordinator for the Middle-East, warmly welcomed the TCDD delegation on behalf of UIC Director General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux who was in India. He delivered a presentation to the delegation on UIC’s current missions, organisation and working structures.
Marc Guigon, Senior Advisor at the UIC Passenger and High Speed Department, presented and commented on the activities of the Passenger Forum and the UIC Passenger/High Speed Department, with specific focus on stations (and the preparation of “Next Station”, the 4th International Conference on Railway Stations to be held from 17 – 18 October 2013 in Moscow), high speed rail developments across the globe, and distribution and ticketing systems, etc.
Members of TCDD also exchanged information on the application of tariffs, in particular yield management, reservation and ticketing systems, etc.
