High Speed Rail Systems: don’t forget to register by 10 May for the 9th Training Session on High Speed Systems (Level 1) Paris, 3 – 7 June 2013

The UIC Passenger & High Speed Department is pleased to organise the 9th Training Session on High Speed Systems that will take place in Paris from 3 – 7 June 2013.

If you’re interested in participating don’t forget to register by 10 May.

Concerning the Seminar’s programme, we can note that:

Monday, 3 June will be dedicated to a general overview of High Speed Systems, including the potentialities of classic rail systems, and High Speed development around the world. The afternoon will be dedicated to infrastructure issues. The first lectures will start at 9 a.m. Taking into account the importance of these first lectures and the busy agenda of the first day, we recommend arriving Paris the day before.

Tuesday, 4 June: Lectures will be on rolling stock and operations

Wednesday, 5 June: This day will be dedicated to business and commercial issues. It will be held at UIC Headquarters.

Thursday, 6 June: Session will be held at Bouygues premises (around 30 km away from Paris, transfer from UIC-HQ to venue and back will be provided by UIC) and will be dedicated to business, financing, PPP projects, etc.

Friday, 7 June: Lectures will be held at the “Château du Val” (near Saint Germain-en-Laye, 25 km away from Paris, transfer from UIC-HQ to venue and back will be provided by UIC) A farewell lunch together with the Board of Directors of the UIC, including the presentation of certificates, will be held in the “Château”.

The training session will end on Friday, at approximately 15:00 hrs (3.30 p.m.) at St Germain, and the bus is expected to return to UIC Headquarters at around 17:00 hrs (5 p.m.) The training session will be held in English. However, other languages could be envisaged if enough participants of the some language are registered.

The registration fee is €1,500 including tax. This fee comprises the training session, working materials, as well as technical visits and lunches. Travel to and from Paris and accommodation costs are not included.
