Russian Railways: Mikhaïl Akulov says work concerning RZD’s passenger complex is focusing chiefly on the customer

During the 8th International Business Rail Forum: 1520 Strategic Partnership organized by JSC Russian Railways RZD in Sochi (Krasnaya Polyana) on 31 May, a debate was held on the subject “Is the client always right? Technologies and know-how for passenger business”

Participants in the debate included, among others, Mikhaïl Akulov, RZD Vice-President and Chief Executive of the Federal Passenger Company; Maxim Schneider, Head of the Corporate Governance Centre for Suburban Transport at Russian Railways; Frédéric Pardé, Project Director for Russia and CIS at SNCF; and Kirill Yankov, Director of Economic Policy at the Centre for Strategic Research and Chairman of the Union of Passengers Interregional Public Organisation.

During the debate, the participants studied issues involving the introduction of compulsory civil liability insurance for the national carrier, the work conditions of passenger carriers, the decrease in the level of government support, the development of tourist services, fare-setting, and so on.
