The 5th Transport Research Arena TRA2014 will be organised from 14 – 17 April 2014 at Paris-la-Defense.
TRA (Transport Research Arena) is the major conference on transport in Europe, supported by the European Commission, the Conference of European Road Directors, and the three European Technology Platforms: the European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTRAC), the European Rail Research Advisory Council (ERRAC), and the WATERBORNE TP.
The conference topics address the main challenges in transport and mobility of people and goods, with respect to energy, environment, safety and security and economy issues. TRA aims to explore the most advanced research works and innovations, the latest technological and industrial developments and implementations, and innovative policies, in Europe and worldwide. As a wide and open forum open to all interested parties, it is a unique occasion to promote and improve European competitiveness and efficiency in transportation.
After the success of the 2006 (Göteborg, Sweden), 2008 (Ljubljana, Slovenia), 2010 (Brussels, Belgium) and 2012 (Athens, Greece) conferences, TRA 2014 will be organised in Paris, France, hosted by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy and IFSTTAR. TRA 2014 will be the first major event where the European Commission’s “Horizon 2020” research and innovation programme will be discussed in depth, as the programme is due to be launched at the beginning of 2014.
The call for abstracts and invited sessions is closed and was very successful (1100 abstracts and 110 invited sessions submitted). The deadline to submit accepted full papers is 30 September 2013 (for notified authors only).
A new call is now open for “Outreach Marketplaces” (posters only), and the submission deadline is 31 October 2013. Innovative companies and on-going project leaders are welcome (among others) to submit Outreach Marketplaces on the submission website:
