Germany: additional 500 million euros for existing rail infrastructure

Federal Transport Minister of Germany Peter Ramsauer and President of German Railways DB AG Rüdiger Grube signed three important agreements on 6 September: a two or more year extension of the basis of the contract for federal financial resources for the existing rail infrastructure, the increase of the federal financial resources for the existing network, 250 million euros for 2013 and the same amount for 2014, as well as an agreement to prevent corruption and the damages caused by cartels.

As Minister Peter Ramsauer underlined, “more railway stations and bridges can be sanitised with these resources and adapted to prepare the future, for more safety and seamlessness in the interest of passengers”…
