On the occasion of this week in Australia dedicated to Rail Research, with the participation of UIC as co-organiser of the World Congress on Railway Research (WCRR)
which is being held this week in Sydney,
in conjunction with AusRAiL Plus 2013 bringing together all stakeholders involved in rail research across the world, it seemed to us important and worthwhile to take stock of the actions that UIC has aimed to coordinate in this area for many years now.
Research and innovation are part of the fundamental values of the International Union of Railways. Through its activities and working bodies, UIC is strongly committed, alongside the global rail research community, to supporting efforts to develop the railway system and trains of tomorrow.
Therefore, UIC and its members continue to develop their technical expertise to meet the challenges of the growing demand in sustainable mobility of people and goods.
