As part of the ceremonies to mark the closing of the ONCF 50th anniversary celebrations under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Moroccan State Railways (ONCF) is organising an international seminar in Marrakech on 6 March 2014 focusing on the central theme of “Railways in the past, present and future”.

Organised in collaboration with UIC, this international gathering will be attended by many stakeholders (leaders and decision-makers, rail experts, manufacturers, researchers, academics, etc.) representing the various continents. The event will provide a platform to share and discuss the development of the railway system and the main issues related to this topic by focusing on:

  • Visions aiming to revitalise railways around the world
  • Societal and management aspects in railway transport
  • Standards, standardisation and challenges of sustainable development

In this context, we would be honoured by your presence (or that of your representative) at this international seminar and ask you to please confirm your participation by 20 February 2014 to allow us to make the necessary organisational arrangements. A letter will be sent to you at a later date with further details of the programme as well as the practicalities regarding the proceedings of this seminar.
