Comfort, speed and safety. These attributes perfectly describe the new Siemens Viaggio Comfort high-speed trainsets. Together with a professional crew and superior services, they will provide passengers with everything that modern rail travel requires. They are to be deployed on the Prague – Brno – Vienna – Graz route under the brand name ČD Railjet from December 2014. However, these trainsets will begin test runs on the Czech tracks from mid-2014.

Czech Railways has ordered a total of seven trainsets to be supplied sequentially from the Siemens Vienna plant from approximately March 2014. Until then, ČD will provide interesting information and photos on the production of these modern trainsets that will change travel in the Czech Republic like it was a few years ago with SC Pendolino trains.

The set seats 394 passengers in second class, 42 in first class, and six in business class.
The entire train is 185 metres in length.

The Railjet trains will travel at line speeds of up to 230 km/h with modern, fully air-conditioned open spaces carriages.

Each of the 185m Railjet trains will have a total of 442 seats in three classes, including first, business and economy. They will feature a bistro carriage, a barrier-free WC and wheelchair lift for passengers with reduced mobility, a designated space for passengers in wheelchairs, a children’s playroom with cinema and a 230V electrical connection.
