Russia: Russian Railways International LLC, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and Serbian Railways have signed an additional agreement for the reconstruction of six sections of Pan European Corridor 10

On 6 March 2014, during the EXPO – Russia Serbia 2014 business event, RZD International and Serbian Railways signed an additional agreement under a contract signed previously to perform work on the construction (reconstruction) of railway infrastructure in Serbia. The additional agreement is for the reconstruction work of six railway sections of Pan European Transport Corridor No 10, with a total length of 112 km.

The contract to perform work on the construction (reconstruction) of railway infrastructure in Serbia, and the supply of diesel trains, was signed on 23 May 2013 in the Serbian capital Belgrade, by Sergei Pavlov, Managing Director of Russian Railways International and Dragomir Simonovic, CEO of Serbian Railways, in the presence of RZD President Vladimir Yakunin.

The contract involves the construction of a second electrified railway track on the Belgrade-Pančevo line of about 15 km in length, the reconstruction of six railway stretches along Pan European Corridor 10 with a total length of 112 km, the overhaul of the existing track and the construction of a second spur (44 km long) on the Stara Pazova-Novi Sad rail stretch, the reconstruction of a 200 km-long section of the Belgrade-Bar rail line, and the supply of 26 diesel trains built by Russian engineering company Metrowagonmash.
The contract was signed as part of an agreement between the Government of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Republic of Serbia to provide state export credit in the amount of 800 million US dollars. *
