Previous editions of the UIC newsletter ‘UIC e-news’ included reports on the International Railway Seminar that was jointly organised by Moroccan Railways (ONCF) and UIC on 6 March in Marrakech.
Under the overall title “Railways between Past, Present and Future”, the seminar provided a unique opportunity to exchange in the frame of three round tables on:
- Rail Visions for the Revitalisation of Railways in all parts of the world,
- the challenges of international harmonisation, railway standardisation,
- Societal and managerial challenges for railways: financing, sustainable development, security, educational and management programmes,...
We are very pleased to publish the English translation on the speech entitled “Challenges of Investment and Financing” held in Marrakech during the round table on “Societal and managerial challenges” by Mr Henry Marty-Gauquié, Director, Liaison with International Organisations, EIB Group Representative in France.
