Adif has finalised work to improve access in Pamplona railway station, requiring an investment of around one million euros.
The aim of these measures is to facilitate the movement of rail passengers by installing new facilities, in particular for persons with reduced mobility.

One of the main measures has been to install two new lifts connecting the underpass with the platforms.

Similarly, upgrade work has been carried out in the underpass to renovate the finishes and fittings.

Another change has been to extend the central platform by 40 m and raise the height of the two existing 250 m-long platforms by 68 cm. These measures will improve access to the various types of trains that call at the station by making it safer and more comfortable.

Work on the platforms has been completed with the new paving surface, safety markings and a tactile guidance path to indicate the edge of the platform to visually impaired passengers.

As part of Adif’s commitment to reduce energy consumption, LED lighting has been installed on the platforms to indicate the arrival of trains in the station. In addition, the station’s power supply has been improved with the installation of a 110 kVA generator.

Work has also been undertaken to upgrade, reinstall and re-arrange the relevant facilities, fittings, equipment and signage.

Pamplona railway station has 11 tracks and two platforms, the main one of which is adjacent to the station building, measures 8.8 m in width and serves track 1. The main platform is around 4 m in width and serves tracks 3 and 7. Both platforms are protected by a gable roof canopy.
