The United Nations recently announced the setting-up of a high-level Advisory Group for Sustainable Transport. This group will advise Secretary-General Ban-Ki-moon on transport policy.

In this context, Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General will be honoured to participate in this High-Level Advisory Group to represent the railway sector.

UIC has set a strategic objective, to ensure that rail transport is properly represented and that the importance of energy efficient transport is properly understood.
