Whereas Japan will celebrate the 50th anniversary of high speed rail in 2015, one of the major events organised by UIC and dedicated to the high speed progress and perspectives, “UIC HIGHSPEED”, will be held from 7 – 10 July 2015 at Tokyo International Forum.
This 9th World Congress dedicated to High Speed rail will feature international rail experts on transport policy and technology and will bring together both the public and private sectors to provide insight and best practice for implementing high-speed rail projects at every stage – from planning, financing, and construction to operations and management.
The Congress will comprise:
- Plenary sessions
- Round tables
- A technical visit
- A trade exhibition
Discussions and debates will be led by opinion leaders and international experts representing a broad spectrum of policymakers, economic, financial institutions, industry and the transport sector of the high speed business community.
This worldwide event is being coordinated with East Japan Railway Company in collaboration with all parties involved in high speed rail in Japan, and more generally with all UIC member railways.
This Congress is the world’s eminent gathering on high-speed rail and is expected to attract more than 1,000 attendees from across the globe to exchange views on the development and achievements of high-speed rail worldwide.
Additionally, the Congress will also feature an exhibit showcasing high-speed rail products and services. This exhibition will be held at the same resort as the Congress sessions, at Tokyo International Forum.
This convention centre is located in the middle of the Marunouchi business district, between Tokyo Station and Yūrakuchō Station. The large-scale multi-purpose complex is used for conventions, trade fairs and all kinds of exhibitions.
