The 1st UIC Asia-Pacific Heavy Haul Rail Conference will take place at the Royal Kuningan Hotel (Royal Ball Room) in Jakarta.
UIC is pleased to invite you to the 1st edition of the UIC Asia-Pacific Heavy Haul and Long Trains Conference which will take place in Jakarta (Indonesia), kindly hosted by KERETA API (KAI) from 9 – 11 December 2014. The main objectives of a Heavy Haul and Long Trains Conference are to draft a clear view of existing businesses for heavy and/or long trains, to check the technical and operational challenges and to provide recommendations to achieve them.
It is against this background that the 1st UIC Asia-Pacific Heavy Haul Rail Conference is convened. It aims to bring together the railway’s heavy haul stakeholders – regulators, operators, consumers, industries, and even academics – to discuss policies, strategies, technical aspects, safety and consumer needs, to mention a few.
During this conference participants will exchange and gain experience and best practices in heavy haul undertakings, from infrastructure and rolling stock to safety and consumer needs, from various eminent speakers. Academics will stay abreast of the developments in railway heavy-haul industry, adopting and adapting them to the curriculum, whilst offering their input on standards for operators to abide by. The conference will also enable participants to widen their network. Equally, the exhibition running parallel to the conference will also offer potential opportunities…and many more.
We look forward to welcoming you in Jakarta from 9 – 11 December 2014.
