Czech Republic: CD Supervisory Board appoints Mr Pavel Krtek as CEO and Chairman of the Board

Changes were made within CD’s (Czech Railways) top management on 10 November 2014:

CD’s Supervisory Board appointed Mr Pavel Krtek as CEO and Chairman of Board. Mr Krtek takes over the role from outgoing Chairman Mr Daniel Kurucz.

The following appointments have been made to the CD’s Board of Management:

  • Ludvik Urban (vice-chairman of the board responsible for cooperation with regions and investments)
  • Michal Stepan (board member responsible for passenger transport)
  • Frantisek Bures (board member responsible for technology, service and assets management)
  • Roman Sterba (board member responsible for corporate projects and international relations)

Mr Pavel Krtek is 44 years old and before his recent appointment he acted as CD board member and CFO.

He graduated in 1994 from Ecole Centrale Paris (French university-level institution in the field of engineering). Mr Krtek’s profile is a senior executive with extensive experience in railway transport (Unipetrol Doprava and AWT – Advanced World Transport/OKD Doprava), refinery/petrochemicals (Unipetrol) and cement (Lafarge).
Mr Krtek’ speaks fluent English and French, as well as intermediate-level Russian.
