On 3 December in Paris, during the official visit of the JSC “Russian Railways” delegation in France, the Directorate of Railway Stations (branch office) and division of Stations and Interchange Hubs of the National Society of French Railways (SNCF Gares & Connexions) signed an agreement to extend the programme of fraternal stations to 31 December 20116.

Recall that the basic agreement on the establishment of partnerships in the form of fraternal stations was signed in February 2010. The programme of events includes continuing the strengthening of friendly relations and intercultural cooperation between Russian and French railways through the exchange of information and experience in station management.

During the mutual visits of delegations, thematic seminars will be organised to discuss important questions for fraternal stations, such as the development and improvement of services, increasing the commercial attractiveness of stations, focusing on ways to finance projects, interacting with carriers and other partners, and adapting services for people with limited mobility.

Currently fraternal stations include Paris-Est (Paris)-Belorusskaya Station (Moscow), Matabiau (Toulouse)-Samara, Gare Saint-Lazare (Paris)-Baltiyskaya Station (St. Petersburg), Saint-Charles (Marseille)-Vladivostok, Nice-Sochi, Gare de Strasbourg-Yekaterinburg.
