UIC Middle-East Region organises 1st International Conference on “Railway Interoperability-Standardisation-Harmonisation" with QRC, OTIF and CIT in Doha, Qatar

The 1st UIC RAME International Conference on “Railway Interoperability – Standardisation – Harmonisation” organised in close cooperation with OTIF and CIT, will be held at the kind invitation of Qatar Railways (QRC) in Doha, Qatar, from 30 – 31 March 2015.

This conference in Qatar will provide a unique opportunity for all railways and railway stakeholders from the Middle-East region to exchange on all essential issues connected with technical, operational and legal harmonisation in view of developing an attractive and competitive rail transportation system with a regional dimension in the Middle-East.
Mention should be made that OTIF (Intergovernmental Organisation for International Carriage by Rail) and CIT (International Rail Transport Committee) are cooperating with UIC to organise this conference and to handle the legal aspects of harmonisation and interoperability.

The two-day programme consists of railway interoperability and standardisation, legal and contractual issues managed and presented by UIC, OTIF and CIT respectively.

The main targets of this international conference are CEOs, senior executives, experts of member railways or governments, regional institutions and transport authorities from the Middle-East region or neighbouring regions.
