ILCAD Call for Papers Press conference and round table discussion hosted by TCDD on 3 June 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey

On 3 June 2014 the Portuguese Railway Infrastructure Manager (REFER), UIC and key partners celebrated the 6th International Level Crossing Awareness Day (ILCAD) focusing on educational measures and the promotion of safe behaviour at and around level crossings. This edition once again brought together over 43 countries and concentrated its message on professional drivers. Over 100 persons participated in the international press conference and round table discussion emphasising the importance of road safety at level crossings.

On 3 June 2015 the railway community, road safety advocates, international institutions, academics and researchers will meet again to officially launch the 7th edition of ILCAD. This year the event will be hosted by Turkish Railways (TCDD) in Istanbul. The public targeted in 2015 will be pedestrians and cyclists.

and wish to bring your expertise, please submit your paper (1 page max in English) by 24/03/2015 using this form http://www.uic.org/forms/spip.php?article1470 or sending an email to fonverne at uic.org. You will be informed if your abstract has been selected by early April 2015. A short biography with photo will then be requested for a press pack, a presentation in English shall be sent to us two weeks before the event. The event’s official language is English. No interpreting will be provided except for Turkish.
