Since 1 May, Eurostar high speed services have been extended to the French port city of Marseille, calling en route at Lyon and Avignon. Prior to this date, Eurostar served London-Paris and London-Brussels.
The journey time from London to Marseille-Saint-Charles takes six hours and 27 minutes. The return journey from Marseille to London takes seven hours and 50 minutes as there is an extra stop at Lille Europe due to immigration checks before the train enters the Channel Tunnel.
The lowest fare for a return ticket varies between 111 euros from London to Lyon and 123 euros from London to Marseille – a “highly competitive price”, according to Nicolas Petrovic, Chief Executive of Eurostar.
