The UIC Working Group on “Palletising Issues” held its first annual spring meeting in the new and modern ÖBB headquarters. Members of the WG met in the so-called “sky lobby” on the top floor with a beautiful view over Vienna.

At this meeting, changes and adjustments to the 435 pp UIC-Leaflets for the new edition concerning assurance of high quality in manufacture and repair were decided and approved by the WG. Further focus was placed on the necessary measures for future cooperation with the UIC WG - EPAL, required in the light of mutual recognition of interchangeability of pallets, including a unified repair of circulating damaged pallets.

The UIC WG member companies are: ADIF, B Logistics, CD a.s., DB Intermodal Services GmbH, Green Cargo, HZ Cargo, Rail Cargo Hungaria, Rail Cargo Austria (chairing), SNCF, SZ and ZSSK Cargo.
