Alleo, the joint subsidiary of Deutsche Bahn (DB) and the French National Railway Company (SNCF), has been awarded a Franco-German economics prize in the “Staff management” category. This award recognises the excellent work performed by mixed Franco-German teams in high speed trains. This prize is awarded by the Chambre Franco-Allemand de Commerce et d’Industrie in France, and sponsored by the German Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy, Sigmar Gabriel, and the French Minister of the Economy, Emmanuel Macron. A total of 86 companies competed in five different categories.

Birgit Bohle, Chairwoman of the Board for DB Fernverkehr (Grandes Lignes), commented: “We are absolutely delighted with this honour and consider it to be a confirmation of the philosophy of our subsidiary, which is based on bringing together the best elements of our two cultures for the benefit of our joint customers”.

Rachel Picard, head of SNCF Voyages, believes that “this prize recognises the commitment of a team that strengthens the links between our two countries and between SNCF and DB. We have all learnt so much from one another: the pairs of on-board train managers and the train drivers, as well as the management team that lead this cooperation. The intercultural training of our mixed teams from two different cultural backgrounds is a key factor in our efficiency.”
