Dear readers,

In these first few days of 2016, I want to wish you a happy new year again, to you, your families and relatives, to your railway companies as well as to UIC and all its partners across the world.

2015 was a very busy year for UIC, highlighted in particular by our commitment to sustainable mobility and its recognition by the United Nations, more than 50 important conferences worldwide, the progress of international standardisation and many technical projects, the launch of the digital platform.

2016 will certainly continue to be very active, in a complex international context.
We will make every effort to achieve our goals, in the spirit of our UIC values of Unity, Universality and Solidarity, and an open and cooperative philosophy in everything we do to Share, Open and Connect, at the service of the Worldwide Railway Operating Community.

Let us all together, collectively, write a new, and as good as can be, page of our UIC history.
