As part of the project to build a high speed rail link between Tangier and Casablanca, Moroccan State Railways (ONCF) has started dynamic testing of the first high speed train on this route.

This first TGV Duplex train for Morocco’s inaugural high-speed line was received at the Port of Tangier on 29 June 2015, where it underwent a series of static tests at the high speed maintenance workshop. Inaugurated in September 2015 in Tangier by His Majesty King Mohammed VI and French President François Hollande, this workshop was equipped with the necessary facilities and tools required for different levels of maintenance.

The high speed train comes with an onboard laboratory containing measuring instruments to help carry the various tests on the Tangier-Casablanca line section over the next few months.
ONCF’s trialling programme involves a team of railway experts and civil authorities to ensure that the tests run smoothly.
