Following the success of Next Station, the International Conference on Railway Stations held in Marrakech in October 2015, UIC was invited to participate in a colloquium in Rabat dedicated to the cultural footprint of Morocco’s industry brands.

Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General, had the opportunity to share his international experience on railway development around the world and its links with social, societal and cultural development.

He reiterated, by quoting Rabelais, that “science without conscience is the soul’s perdition”, and by quoting Avicenna, that “essence is at the heart of existence.”

This colloquium on Morocco’s industry brand names was hosted by the publishing company Langages du Sud.

ONCF, one of Morocco’s leading companies, is an excellent example of this topic. Over the years the company has upgraded its network, modernised its railway stations and developed its first high speed line on the African continent.
