On 7 April a new Management Board of PKP was appointed by the Minister of Infrastructure and Construction.
The new CEO of PKP is Mr Mirosław Pawłowski, who will be supported by four Board members: Ms Cecylia Lachor, Mr Michał Beim, Mr Marek Michalski and Mr Jarosław Kołodziejczyk.
Biography of Mr Pawłowski:
Mr Pawłowski graduated in economic studies from the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin and went on to postgraduate studies in the field of management, among others. He has been associated with the railway industry and the companies of the PKP Group for many years. In 2001 he became Director for Economics and Finance at PKP JSC, with responsibility for railway infrastructure. From 2001 to 2009 he was a member of the Management Board of PKP Polish Railway Lines JSC (PKP PLK JSC) with responsibility for economic and financial issues, during which time he successfully restored the financial position of the company. He also coordinated the implementation of the ERP SAP system at PKP PLK JSC, for which the company was awarded “Implementation of Year 2008”. From 2006 to 2009 he served as Vice-President of the Railway Employers’ Union (ZPK). More recently he managed one of the firms in the energy sector, directing major infrastructure projects in the eastern part of the Mazovian voivodship.
On 30 March the PKP PLK Supervisory Board also appointed a number of new Management Board members:
Mr Ireneusz Merchel, President of the Management Board;
Mrs Małgorzata Kuczewska- Łaska, Member of the Management Board, Director for Financial and Economic Affairs
Mr Antoni Jasiński, Member of the Management Board, Director for Infrastructure Maintenance
Mr Włodzimierz Żmuda, Member of the Management Board, Director for Investment Quality and Operational Risk
Mr Andrzej Pawłowski continues his duties as a Vice-President of the Management Board, Director for Operational Affairs
In April PKP PLK’s Management Board will be joined by one more member – Director for Investment Implementation.
