Poland: PKP JSC starts redevelopment work on Puławy Miasto railway station

Redevelopment has begun on Puławy Miasto railway station. The existing structure is to be demolished and replaced by a modern station in the same place.

During the redevelopment work travellers will be provided with a temporary waiting room near the existing station. Special marking and signs will be available to inform travellers about this change in the organisation of traffic in the area around the station.

The new building will be fully adapted to people’s needs with reduced mobility, among others leading lines, ramps and a typographic map of the station will be installed. There will also be free Wi-Fi access and a room for a childminder is also foreseen. Some alcoves are planned in the waiting room with vending, information and ticket machines. A modern information voice and visual systems are to be mounted, as well as a bicycle shelter in the front of the station.

The cost of the investment project amounts to over PLN two million net. The assigned work is being carried out by Korporacja Budowlana “DARCO” Dariusz Żak. The project is scheduled to be completed at the turn of the third and fourth quarter of this year.
