Following the Slovak parliamentary elections held on 5 March 2016 and then coalition talks and eventually creation of a new Government, Mr Roman Brecely took office as the new Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic, succeeding Mr Ján Počiatek.
Subsequently there has been a high-level change in the management of the Slovak rail infrastructure management company (ZSR).
On 3 May 2016, Mr Roman Brecely, Minister of Transport, Construction and Regional Development of the Slovak Republic appointed Mr Tibor Šimoni (Тибор Шимоньи) as Director General of ZSR. Shortly after his appointment as Director General, Mr Šimoni said: “I see my appointment as a great managerial challenge. My priorities further to the modernisation of the main transport corridors will include the restoration of important regional lines and address the long standing unresolved issue of Bratislava’s Filialka railway station.”
Mr Šimoni graduated in 1997 at the Comenius University in Bratislava and in 2005 at the European School of Management – ESCP Europe.
So far Mr Šimoni performed as an independent expert in effective crisis management, particularly in the construction and energy sectors and he has extensive professional experience in the field of high-level management of various companies and associations.
