Austrian Federal Railways: Andreas Matthä appointed as ÖBB CEO ad interim after Christian Kern has stepped down to become Chancellor of the Austrian Federal Republic

Mr Andreas Matthä, former Board Member of ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG, was appointed CEO ad interim of ÖBB-Holding AG by the Supervisory Board on 24 May 2016.
Together with CFO Josef Halbmayr he will be managing the Austrian Federal Railways group during the next weeks.

On 4 July 2016 a regular Supervisory Board Meeting will take place in order to appoint the new CEO of Austrian Federal Railways. The call for candidates will be open until 21 June 2016.

As for ÖBB-Infrastruktur AG for the time being the two other board members, Mr Franz Bauer and Mr Franz Seiser will take over the responsibilities of Mr Matthä.

Christian Kern, CEO of ÖBB-Holding AG since 2010, stepped down on 17 May 2016 from all his functions, having been called to become Chancellor of the Austrian Federal Republic on 18 May 2016.
