Turkey: Rehabilitation and Signalling project of the Karabük-Zonguldak railway line is complete

Following the completion of its rehabilitation work, the opening ceremony of the railway line was attended by Mr Binali Yıldırım, Turkish Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications on 27 April 2016 (in the meantime Mr. Yildirim was appointed new Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey). The governors of Karabük and Zonguldak, members of parliament, mayors, local officials and members of the public participated in the ceremonies organised in Karabük and Zonguldak.

During the ceremony, Mr Binali Yıldırım stated that the European Union (EU) had provided around 550 million Turkish Liras in support of the Rehabilitation and Signalling Project of the Irmak-Karabük-Zonguldak railway line.
