TRA is pleased to announce that the establishment of an e-ticketing system is fully accomplished and that the application for e-ticket usage on the whole of TRA’s network was launched on 28 June 2016. This service allows the public to not only take TRA trains more conveniently and efficiently but also to make an easy transit to other public transport tools.

Additionally, each cardholder can enjoy a 10% discount on the fare for distances up to 70 km. TRA highlights that every passenger can save at least 25 hours every year. At present, four different e-ticket cards are acceptable for the TRA network, including EZcard, iPass, icash, and HappyCash.

In line with the opening for TRA’s e-ticketing system, the Directorate General of Highways offers a programme of entitling those cardholders who take TRA trains to enjoy complimentary bus rides for local distances in Hualian and Taitung district from 28 June 2016 to 31 August 2016 if the transits are made within two hours. This programme encourages the public to make use of e-tickets to take public transport to enjoy both convenient service and discounted fares.
