Russia: Tourist train to take passengers from around the world to mark centenary of Trans-Siberian Railway

This year, 2016, marks the centenary of the completion of the Trans-Siberian Railway. On 22 August 2016, the luxury tourist train Imperial Russia will run from Moscow to Beijing carrying international passengers from around the world. The train is composed of 8 luxury carriages.

The tour will last 14 days, from 22 August to 4 September.

During the journey, passengers will be able to see the main sights and attractions of the cities along the Trans-Siberian Railway, such as Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Irkutsk.

This project is being organised jointly by the Federal Passenger Company, a subsidiary of Russian Railways, and the company RZD Tour.

Imperial Russia is an exclusive Russian tourist product which is popular with foreign tourists.

The journey in the opposite direction from Beijing to Moscow will take place between 29 August to 12 September 2016.
