From 12 – 13 September 2016, Gysev Cargo hosted the Balkan Conference at the Hotel Sopron. Freight forwarding in project trains guarantees customers first-class quality service in terms of delivery time, safety of goods and information about the current status of consignments. Concerning transport in project trains towards the Balkan countries, the aim of the conference was to further increase the service level, to eliminate eventual problems and to find a common solution to them.

The conference is usually held annually – last year was an exception though as it was omitted. The event targeted all stakeholders of the Balkan block trains, namely the railway companies of the countries concerned, the operators and the production companies as customers. This year, 20 people attended the two-day conference.

Among others, the main topics of the conference were the elimination of problems triggered by the refugee crisis, the re-opening of the Halkali terminal, track refurbishment and the composition of mixed trains. The participants found the joint meeting to be successful and urged that it should be organised the following year as well.
