Following the agreement that was signed at the UIC General Assembly in Rome between UIC and USIC (International Railway Sports Association), Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of UIC, participated in the final of the challenge which took place on 22 October in Berlin.

On this occasion, the values uniting the two associations – Unity, Solidarity and Universality – were reiterated.

It was decided that at the next UIC General Assembly in Saint-Petersburg an awards ceremony will be held to present the trophies to the three prize-winning countries for the 2016 programme of activities. An announcement will also be made for an activity of a charitable nature to be conducted jointly in 2017 between UIC and USIC, in order to better reflect the values of solidarity that the railway community wishes to develop through sporting events.
