The MERITS Time Table Expert Group (TTEG) meeting was held on 20 and 21 October 2016 at the kind invitation of PKP.

22 participants representing 10 railway companies were present.

UIC was represented by Marc Guigon, Senior Advisor for Passenger Transport, Fabrice Setta, Senior Advisor for eBusiness and Joachim Baars, expert on timetables.
The TTEG is the community of Railway Undertakings that publishes consolidated timetable, services and station data (MERITS data) to be used by railway undertakings in information systems to support journey planners and booking activities.

Mr Jarolaw Majchrzak, Executive Manager Project Management Office of PKP presented a general overview of PKP: missions, railway traffic management, staff, railway infrastructure, modern technologies, investments, environmental protection, safety. Then he presented the timetable construction system in Poland.

Frank Martini (HaCon) highlighted the question concerning Multiple Railway Operators in one country, and the technical consequence for new locations.
Joachim Baars (UIC) presented the decision process concerning Multiple Railway Operators in one country.

Marc Guigon (UIC) made a presentation on proposals on the future of Merits, and the decisions to be taken by the Merits members.

Fabrice Setta (UIC) took the floor to present the question of Minimum Connecting Times (MCTs).
Joachim Baars presented solutions to improve the Merits tool on the subject: restrictions in origin/destination relationships.

Angelina Rotolo-Piazza (DB Vertrieb) reported on the MERITS data management activity.

Dominique Margottin (TAP-TSI) made a focus on the current state of the TAP-TSI regulation, the establishment of the governance (TSGA) and the consequences on MERITS activities (tool and railway undertaking behaviour).

The next meeting will be held from 30 – 31 March 2017 (location to be determined).
