Miroslaw Pawlowski, PKP CEO, invited Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of UIC, to PKP headquarters for a meeting which was held in Warsaw on 16 December 2016. The talks focused on a number of priority issues linking UIC’s work in the context of participation of PKP representatives.

Jean-Pierre Loubinoux reported on the main conclusions from the General Assembly focusing on standardisation, digitalisation in railways, knowledge transfer, training development and research and innovation. The message of the new UIC Chairman,, and the overwhelming support given by the General Assembly members for its priority actions in the near future to maintain continuity and stability within UIC, were also at stake.

Mr Loubinoux encouraged the PKP experts to take a more active part in UIC’s work and proposed several areas to be explored by this important member. Mr Pawlowski, as the Polish Railways’ representative to the UIC GA, and a member of its Executive Board, expressed his support in the organisation’s efforts to develop technical expertise, exchange of experience and development of best practice. He stated that PKP will continue to contribute to these objectives, and in this regard the UIC can count on its active involvement.

Jean-Pierre Loubinoux invited PKP CEO to take part in several events planned for 2017 – especially for the scheduled UIC statutory meetings.
