Mr Juan Alfaro Grande has been appointed new President of Renfe Operadora, succeeding Mr Pablo Vázquez Vega.

The official ceremony, chaired by the Minister of Public Works and Transport, when Mr Alfaro was taking office as President of Renfe, took place on 12 December.

Mr Alfaro graduated in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid and holds a degree in Public Administration Management from ESADE Business School. Previously he was Director-General of Sociedad Estatal de Infraestructuras del Transporte Terrestre (State-owned Company for Land Transport Infrastructure).
