With the aim of bringing the legal status in line with the new dates of the 10th UIC World Congress on High Speed Rail, jointly organised by UIC and Turkish State Railways (TCDD), which will finally take place from 8 to 11 May 2018 in Ankara, new documents have been signed between the main actors.
In Istanbul, on 2 March, on the occasion of the 7th Eurasia Rail, the international trade fair of rolling stock, infrastructure and logistics, Mr Isa Apaydin, President of the Board and Director General of TCDD (and also UIC Vice Chairman and Chairman of the UIC Middle-East Region, RAME) and Mr Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of UIC, signed a new version of the Memorandum of Understanding, which engage both entities in cooperation.
They also, together with Mr Gökhan Ölmez, Director General of CMS Project, the company in charge of the logistical organisation of the Congress, signed an updated version of the contract defining the terms and conditions of this organisation.
This ceremony was followed by constructive and friendly talks between the three partners, and mainly focused on the organisation of the Congress, which is expected to be a big success, thanks to the strong involvement of the three signing actors, as well as the cooperation between all the members of the UIC Intercity and High Speed Committee.
