UIC welcomed the appointment of Mohamed Mezghani, the new Secretary General of UITP (International Association of Public Transport) during his visit and meeting with Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, Director General of UIC, on 17 January 2018 at the Paris headquarters.

The two executives expressed their willingness to continue the fruitful exchanges that have been held between the two organisations until now, and to strengthen them through a future cooperation agreement which is set to be established this year. This agreement will cover the area of railway stations, the environment, security and training. Other subjects such as digital technology in public and railway transport, ticketing and telecommunications could also be taken into account.
