The latest meeting of the Commuter and Regional Train Services (CRTS) group was held on 28 February at UIC Paris Headquarters. There were representatives of PKP SKM, JR-East, BLS, Renfe, and Korail. UIC was represented by Mr Jean-Pierre Loubinoux, UIC Director General, Mr Marc Guigon, Director of the Passenger Department, Mrs Beatrix Perrot, Assistant and Mrs Vanessa Pérez, Advisor for the same department.
Two main issues were addressed during the meeting: the organisation and planification of the triannual working plan and the organisation of the III Training in Commuter and Regional Trains Services to be held at the end of May in Warsaw, hosted by PKP.
Over the next few months, the group will continue working in a continuous process of comparative evaluation of products, services and processes common to the railway operators of commuter and regional trains in collaboration with other UIC departments such as Safety and Security and other organisations such as UITP. This group is open to all UIC members, so do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to participate.
The next opportunity to join the group will be during the III Training on Commuter and Regional Trains to be held in Warsaw from 28 – 30 May hosted by PKP, which will bring together authorities, the supply industry, international organisations and operators to share their vision on the different aspects involving the Commuter and Regional Train Services.
The programme and practical information about the training will be soon available on the UIC website.
