On 16 April, the representatives of CamRail, Cameroun, Mr Dieudonné Gaibai, Director of Communications, Ethics and CSR and Director of Transport visited UIC. They met Mr Jean-Pierre Loubinoux and representatives of the UIC Africa Region and Communications departments.
The representatives of CamRail explained the current situation and main development strategies in Cameroun internal and international markets and an important East-West dynamic. They presented numerous expansion and growth projects and involvement of the investments of the World Bank, African Development Bank and other international investors.
UIC as the leading international railway organisation can offer its help to enhance CamRail’s standards, documentation, competences and training in the areas of maintenance operations, safety and security. Numerous training sessions are organised each year by UIC and within the Africa Region programme in the shape of conferences, workshops and e-learning sessions.
The main priorities identified included the participation of CamRail in GRFC, Genoa, on 26-28 June 2018, various Safety and Security Conferences, such as the 4th UIC Security week on 18-21 June 2018, regular Asset Management events and Railway TALENT events including on-line training courses and the 4th networking and collaborative TALENT event in Berlin on 20 September 2018.
