China Railway initiated the onsite ATO (CTCS3+ATO train control system) test of high speed EMU on Beijing-Shenyang HSR on 7 June, a milestone for China Railway’s independent innovation in core technology of intelligent HSR, and an indication that China continues to be the world’s leader in HSR holistic technology.
The comprehensive tests of key intelligent technology of high speed railway have being carried out in full swing on Liaoning Section of Beijing-Shenyang HSR which has been under construction since this March. And the achievements were completed by the end of May, with 13 items of tests, of which 28 in total are completed, including a special test for 350km/h Fuxing Long-formation EMU, test for automised active control of pantograph of high speed EMU and test for metal sound barrier, etc. The achievements will be applied to the construction of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou HSR and the Bejing-Xiongan New Area intercity railway.
According to the relevant department of China Railway, the onsite ATO (CTCS3+ATO train control system) test of high speed EMU, lasting until the end of September, constitutes an important part of key intelligent technology of high speed railways, which will provide massive data for ATO in both stations and sections, such as the stop, start and running of high speed trains. Up to now, the early preparations including technical document release, lab test, type test and test review have been completed.
The ATO test of intelligent HSR is an important move of China Railway to achieve the goal that “Railway shall take the lead in building China into a strong country in transportation” by fully implementing the strategic plan of the 19th CPC Congress to build China’s strength in science and technology and in transport and the guiding principles of the 19th Meeting of the Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the 14th Meeting of the Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. It is of great significance to boost the development of China’s intelligent HSR and keep China the world’s leader in high speed railway technology.
