NC KTZ JSC, with the participation of representatives of KTZH-Freight Transportation JSC, Locomotive Kurastyru Zauyty, service company General Electric, the heads of repair and operational locomotive depots, discussed the issues of improving the servicing of locomotives.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of NC KTZ JSC Marat Shakenov noted the importance of quality repair of locomotives to ensure the safety of traffic on the railway.
The meeting considered approaches and made suggestions on improving the technical reliability of locomotives, providing the main and auxiliary service centres with a transitional stock of equipment.
“The renewal of the locomotive fleet is carried out on a planned basis, special attention is paid to the maintenance, preventive and repair work,” said Shakoven.
At present, the service centers operate on the basis of repair plants at Ayagoz, Sexseul, Astana stations, and auxiliary centres are open at Almaty station.
In the service centres a series of organisational and technical measures is being carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Rules for Technical Operation.
“Over the past five years, more than 200 modern cargo, passenger locomotives, electric locomotives of Kazakhstan production, shunting locomotives have been purchased,” said Aytym Kurakbayev, executive director for production safety of KTZ-Cargo Transportation JSC.
The entire locomotive fleet of NC KTZ JSC is scheduled to be updated by 2030.
